ACCIONA took part in the Schneider Electric Innovation Summit in Barcelona held on 2 and 3 October, which brought together more than 3,500 professionals from the sector including the company’s clients, partners and suppliers.
The aim of this event was to urge the business community to work together towards greater efficiency in their business dealings, helping to create a more sustainable planet.
Sustainability, electrification, digitalisation, innovation, energy management and industrial automation were just some of the key issues discussed by different expert panels at this event in which representatives from ACCIONA took part.
Yolanda Cañedo, Lead O&M Manager in the concessions area of ACCIONA, took part in the “Optimize Power Distribution Everywhere” panel.
During her talk, Yolanda Cañedo emphasised the need for all new infrastructures to be designed and constructed according to efficiency and sustainability criteria, which would result in better operations, optimum functionality, energy and cost savings, and above all a quality service for users.
She explained that the use of integrated systems in the operation and maintenance phase increases infrastructure safety, efficiency and availability.“They are tools that are helping us to identify the conditions leading to variations in parameters before critical situations arise, allowing early actions to be taken.They also allow us to monitor energy efficiency and resource management, contributing significant cost savings and enabling optimum energy management”.
On the second day, Alejandro Beivide, head of automation and control in ACCIONA’s water business, took part in the expert panel discussion entitled “Adding Intelligence to Water with Smart Technologies”,while Elena González, head of energy efficiency in ACCIONA’s services business, spoke in the session “More Sustainable Energy Landscape - EcoStruxure for Microgrids”.
Lastly, Arantxa Ezpeleta, Chief Technology and Innovation Officer atACCIONA took part in one of the key sessions at the event called “Innovation at the Edge”, in which she highlighted the huge effort that the company is putting into sustainable innovation to implement technology that boosts productivity and efficiency.
