ACCIONA takes part in the 10th edition of the “Investment and Financing in the Infrastructure Sector” Congress

The event, organised by IFAES, will take place on 24 October in Madrid and bring together the leading players from the private sector and the public administration.

Diego Marín, Managing Director of ACCIONA’s concessions business, and Alberto Díaz del Río, Global Head of Origination & Partnering in the same division, will take part on different expert panels.

ACCIONA is taking part in the 10th edition of the “Investment and Financing in the Infrastructure Sector” Congress that will be held at the Hotel Meliá Madrid Princesa on 24 October.

This Congress, organised by IFAES, will bring together the leading players in the infrastructure sector, both from the private side (construction firms, concession holders, investors, banks and financial institutions, engineering firms, consultancies and law firms) and from the public administration.

The event primarily seeks to analyse the priority investments in the concessions sector and the actions taken to achieve them; examine the current situation for project financing and its mechanisms; and understand the consequences of the de-indexation law on the existing public-private partnership model.

During the Congress, delegates will have the opportunity to hear from funds and investors about how to reactivate the pipeline of operations, as well as learning about existing opportunities and challenges in the national and international markets through the eyes of different CEOs and managing directors from Spain’s leading concession companies, such as ACCIONA.

Diego Marín, managing director of ACCIONA’s concessions business, will take part in the session called “Overview of opportunities” from 1:35 pm to 2:25 pm.

During this session, participants will discuss the strategies and risks in the national and international markets, business diversification, and the opportunities stemming from the deregulation of passenger railway transport and suburban networks, as well as financing policies for maintaining the high-capacity road network.

During the afternoon, from 3:40 pm to 5:10 pm, Alberto Díaz del Río, Global Head of Origination & Partnering in ACCIONA’s concessions business, will take part in the session entitled “Opportunities, risks and strategies”.

This session will analyse the strengths and weaknesses of different countries, as well as the reasons that lead companies to invest in certain regions.Infrastructure opportunities in the short, medium and long-term will also be discussed, as well as the different investment models and project financing formulas.
